A bird in the hand?

I wrote about my quiet meditation morning yesterday
Today, since it’s another beautiful day
I decided to do it again
Ahhhhhh
The breeze causing the leaves to flutter
The expensive mosquito system is working
The neighbors dog isn’t barking
The mediation and reading are insightful
I’m feeling the joy
Really
Until, splat
Birdshit on my hand
Gross
So gross
I run in to wash and I start laughing
Really laughing because
Isn’t that just the way it goes?
The dichotomy of our days
The paradox of our present
The unpleasant reality of, well
Reality
It’s never all good
It’s never all bad either
It’s always somehow balanced
Some people call it a catch
There are art forms dedicated to making the broken places
Beautiful
We all yearn for smooth, easy days
Decisions that come with no drama
We see the gilt and want it without the
Guilt
My morning meditation would have been another perfect moment
Until it wasn’t
Shit happens
Seriously
Stuff just comes up
People are infallible
And thoughts are treacherous
We can do everything right
And still get sick
Lose our life
Our love
As a kid I dreaded the teeter totter
Because I had a sister that would jump off
While I was up high
All the time
When I landed with a thud
She would laugh
Loudly
But, I kept getting back on
Why
Because I must have understood to get the high
You risk the fall
I loved her and her laugh
When she jumped out of life four years ago
I landed with another thud
Great love creates great losses
Beauty can be broken
Yep, shit happens
But, so do things that are amazing
People can be restored
So can a life
A love
Miracles
Moments
Memories
And meditations that end in shit
Literally
