The Lions Den

I get a daily email from Bowl of Saki
They are always good,  but one this week really got me thinking
It said, that the lions in the den with Daniel were metaphorical
They stood for his ego
They stood for the destructive elements of his mind
They stood for all that he/we will struggle against
Disappointments
Jealousy
Rage
Power
Passions
Hurts
Addictions
Memories
Envy etc…
The drive to have more and do more
When we are already enough
That lowering in
Sealing the door
Dropping into the depth
It’s the dark night of the soul
It’s where we do our biggest work
Face our biggest demons
The devil in the desert
The boogeyman under the bed
The lions in the den
It is us
We are alone
We have nothing to fight with
Survive with
But we do survive
The stone rolls away
The lions go to sleep
The sun rises on a new day
We emerge
Very different and yet very familiar
We have been changed
A metaphor becomes reality
We have a peace inside that comes at the price of survival
Trauma can become a thank you
The terror and temptations turn us
We are introduced to our real self
We tap into a new way
We are no longer defined by what we do
We no longer feel alone
You are not lost
We have learned what we were born to be
Who we were born to be
Brilliant and perfectly made
With Love
